Kennet Care offers residential children’s homes catering for the needs of young people between the ages of 8 and 17 years old.

We aim to create a nurturing environment that is safe and supportive, enabling young people to recover from past life experiences and grow to achieve their full potential.

We offer a warm and caring atmosphere to a young person or siblings, who, for whatever reason are unable to live within their own families. Wherever possible admissions and discharges will be in a planned way to accommodate and work with young people as long as is necessary to achieve the best outcome for their future.

Working With

May I take this opportunity to thank Kennet Care for all the support that has been provided to (child), despite the challenges I know (child) really likes the placement.

Social Worker Team Manager (January 2025)

Children are protected from being cared from by inappropriate people through thorough safer recruitment checks, with the same high standards being held when agency or temporary appointments are made.

Ofsted (August 2025)

Children enjoy warm and caring relationships with the adults who look after them, the adults have an excellent understanding of each child’s risks and vulnerabilities and the home is well managed by a competent and experienced management team.

Ofsted (August 2025)

I have only been at Kennet Care for 3 weeks but wanted to share with you how supported I have felt having met a number of colleagues. Everyone has been welcoming, friendly and kind meaning I have felt at ease and not judged in any way.

This is very different than my last place of work and shows me that not every care organisation treats their employees the same way.

The Training & Induction Manager gets a special mention, she has been absolutely amazing and the amount of knowledge she has is incredible.

Employee (November 2025)

I am impressed with how far you have come with (child) compared to when I first started
working with you. They seem extremely settled and secure. As are the staff team and that is
something to really pat yourself on the back about!

CAMHS (February 2025)

It is clear to see how much you all care and this is shown when you keep in touch with children after they have left.

Virtual School (October 2024)

Children live in a welcoming, well-furnished home. Children are consistently listened to and their views are valued. Staff fully understand the risks to the children in the home

Ofsted, January 2024

Strong working relationships with professionals mean that there is consistency across all aspects of the children’s lives, and children know what is expected of them. Children are supported to have their voices heard by those who make decisions about their lives. The adults advocate for them effectively, to ensure that the children’s wishes are understood.

Ofsted (August 2025)

We are so grateful of the way everyone supports us as a school.

Deputy Head Teacher (September 2024)

Children have good relationships with staff. Staff strongly promote family time. Staff provide children with new experiences. Childrens progress is celebrated by staff.
